Biography : 

Craig Cipolla is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Tufts University and an Assistant Professor, Status Only, at the University of Toronto. Before moving to Canada, he held academic positions in the US and the UK, including a Marie Curie Research Fellowship. He has published widely on North American archaeology, collaborative archaeology, and archaeological theory, including over 40 publications in journals such as American Antiquity and American Anthropologist. His books include Becoming Brothertown (2013, University of Arizona Press) and Archaeological Theory in the New Millennium (with Oliver Harris, 2017, Routledge). Through grants and donor cultivation, he has helped raise over 2.5 million dollars (CAD) in research funding and museum donations, including grants from the National Science Foundation and the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research. He is currently the director of the Mohegan Archaeological Field School, a collaborative field school designed and run in partnership with the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut.
