Special Guest: Elizabeth Chin, Editor-in-Chief of American Anthropologist
 

 

Elizabeth J. Chin is the Editor-in-Chief of American Anthropologist. She is also Professor of Media Design Practices at Art Center College of Design and an ethnographer with a varied practice that includes collaborative research, performative scholarship and writing experiments. Professor Chin is the author of the books Purchasing Power: Black Kids and American Consumer Culture (2001) and My Life with Things: The Consumer Diaries (2016). 

In this workshop Professor Chin will offer advice to graduate students interested in publishing in the journal American Anthropologist. She will also be discussing topics such as the submission and peer review process, citational practices, and the broader politics of publishing in academic journals. Professor Chin’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
